When safety becomes urgent, a secure place to stay can make all the difference.
At Genie Safety Hub, we provide emergency and short-term accommodation for:
- Individuals and families escaping domestic or family violence (DFV)
- Children placed in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) requiring immediate, safe placement
Whether you’re pregnant, have young children, or are facing immediate risk, our team offers trauma-informed, culturally safe housing solutions in Townsville and surrounding regions—with plans to expand to Cairns.
What’s Included
- Safe, secure accommodation in confidential locations
- All meals provided
- Trauma-informed overnight supervision
- 24/7 response capacity for urgent placements
- Support for pregnant women and children under 5
- Accommodation for OOHC children with daily wellbeing monitoring
- Coordination of supervised visits where required
- Case coordination with QPS, Child Safety, and partner organisations
How It Works
- Referral received from QPS, health professionals, DFV or Child Safety services
- Initial triage and risk assessment completed by our Coordinator
- Accommodation secured same day (when available)
- Support Plan developed with our Caseworker
- Wraparound support including emotional care, safety planning, supervised visits (if required), and legal or parenting help
- Safe transition plan or onward referral for long-term placement
